Short biosketch

Jeongtae Kim received his B.S. and M.S degree in Control and Instrumentation Engineering from Seoul National University ,Seoul,Korea, in 1989,1991 respectively. From 1991 to 1998, he had worked for Samsung Electronics Co., where he had been engaged in the development of digital VCR, digital camcorder, HDTV(High Definition Digital TV), IEEE 1394 based Home network system,etc. From 1998 to 2004, he had pursued his Ph.D degree at the EECS department in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  Since Mar. 2004, he has been with the Electronics and Electrical Engineering department in the Ewha Womans University, currently as a full professor. From Aug. 2009 to July 2011, he served as the associate vice president of financial affiars (facility management) of Ewha Womans University.  From Feb. 2013 to Jan. 2015, he had served as the associate dean of the College of Engineering at Ewha Womans University. From Feb 2017 to Jan 2019, he served as the chair of the department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering in the Ewha Womans University. From March 2021 to Jan 2023, he served as the vice president of the office of the Office of Information and Communications. Since Feb. 2023, he has been serving as the Dean of the college of Engineering in the Ewha Womans University.  His research interests include statistical signal processing, statistical image restoration/reconstruction, radar signal processing,  deep learning based machine vision system, etc.
